Agreed, Chanah Liora Wizenberg. This is a loaded issue. I would suggest, and this might surprise/offend some (what? Me offend?) that we cannot expect parents to have unconditional love.

What’s the situation for that family? The values, religion, upbringing, social status, financial ability, etc. All of those factors will have an influence, but the biggest one is religion and why I have such little tolerance for it, especailly the more it’s been secularized.
