I’m not advocating taking away your rights. This piece was first and foremost a rant. What I am for is the abolishment of marriage as an institution, or a re-framing of how it works so that it’s no longer a tool or the patriarchy.

As a gay man I’m happy other gays and lesbians can get married. I chose not to. Never. Because I disagree with what the “institution of marriage” represents.
