Interesting and some thoughts for you:
- how would if feel to give yourself the time and space to write, with focus, not by force?
- consider morning pages as access to your dreams and mental processing during sleep.
I don’t set rules for myself on the number of pages. I have done this ritual years ago, but what I find more important is to write “out” what’s in my head before I do anything else in my day.
I get up, go to the bathroom, drink water, make coffee, and sit down with my journal and fountain pen. And I write. Sometimes it’s a few thougths. Sometimes it’s pages.
Often I write out a question in my journal before bed. Something I want to figure out. Ideas I wish to generate. When I sit to journal in the morning, I look at the question and let my pen dance on the page.
Hope this helps!
