Sam, nice to meet you, I agree that “voice” is an important issue, both in speaking out, and the “intonation”. There was research done (and/or even a documentary I think) about “gay men’s voices.”

Keeping your voice deep and neutral is the expectation of a man in a heteronormative world. Goodness gracious is you sound like a girl, worse yet some shrill, high-pitched flaming faggot!

And do not forget how we dislike women who speak like men, trailing tone down at the end of a sentence to make a definitive statement, instead of inflection, asking a question, which is asking the man persmission to have an opinion…
