Saoirse you have an astute sense of self-awareness. You have clearly spent the time working through shame. You have shown love, kindness, empathy, and self-preservation without harming others.

I have learned so much from what you have shared in your many posts and poetry. I remember the first thing I ever read from you (when I asked you to consider Th-Ink Queerly) was the letter you sent your MIL. It was such a powerful message, and so emotional at the same time. That she rejected you was heart-breaking, but also a symptom of ideological brainwashing on her part.

This post should have been an article, and it still could be, to the benefit of people who have empathy, compassion, a willingness to learn, and who want to contribute to the conversation, not shut it down.
