When we work as a service professional (coach, freelancer, etc.) our best clients are the core of who we are.

What are your three core values? What do you love? What inspires you? What’s your special talent?

You will probably seek that out in others, consciously or not.

If you have a lot of clients and are feeling misaligned, step back and do a review of your top three in 3 steps:

  1. What do you love most about your top 3? List out 3 traits for each one.
  2. What are the biggest challenges and obstacles for client. List 3 for each.
  3. What’s blocking them from getting what they need? List 3 per client.


Compare the answers for each of your top three for each question.

Is there a pattern?

Now, try and make a simple sentence that summarizes the single most relevant answer across the board from each question. Keep working on the question until it feels right.

Let me know WHO the ideal client is once you have that sentence.
